The Return to Rugby programme is aimed at offering new and lapsed players the opportunity to get back involved with Rugby, with inclusive and enjoyable sessions around the basics and fundamentals of the sport. Targeted at adults from 18-80, the programme which is supported by England Rugby allows players to work their way through 10 weeks of sessions, starting from touch and evasion games, building into contact and set pieces and finishing with fixtures against other R2R projects.
Milton Keynes Rugby Club are one of the R2R projects that we support. Currently in the second year of running the programme, they have been massively successful in attracting new players to the club and have averaged numbers well over 30 and competed in a number of matches as well as integrating their new players into their existing senior set up. If you would like to be involved in this year’s programme at MKRUFC, simply head down to the club in Emerson Valley from 7:00pm-8:00pm every Thursday. The sessions will run until the 17th November.
We are also looking to launch a R2R project at Olney Rugby club. Keep a look out for any announcements on that soon!
