Mental Health Awareness Week

MK Dons SET would like to share some tips to help keep your Health and Wellbeing as positive as possible during this uncertain time. Here are 4 easy steps to help you and others during this time:

  1. Connect with other people – talk to those in your household, learn more about your family history and family interests. Spend some quality time with your loved ones in your household and why not get out a family favourite boardgame and have a family night? Also we have the power on social media to connect with all your friends and family with one click, reach out to them, ask if they are ok and talk to them about how you are feeling. You are also more than welcome to contact us if you have any worries about anything, we are here to listen.
  2. Exercise – this is not only great for your health but also widely benefits your mental health. Why not head out for a long walk or a jog? You can also exercise from home, get your whole family involved and try something new. Yoga is a great exercise for stress relief check out this video for tips HERE.
  3. Learn a new skill  – this can not only cure your boredom but will give you a sense of achievement. Why not use the “DuoLingo” App and use your time to learn a new language? Start drawing or get creative, this is also a great stress reliever! Help your parents out with a DIY project (your parents/guardians have so much they can teach you!) or try a new recipe and make dinner for the family.
  4. Give to others – now this can be done without even realising it. Talking and reaching out to people is a great way to give to others, really listen to how the feel and help support them. You could do something around the house with out being asked, like emptying the dishwasher or hoovering. Make someone in your house a drink, write someone a letter, reach out to family members that may be lonely and have a catch up once a week.
