MK Dons Ladies are proud to welcome Laura Mills to the club after signing her from Cambridge United Women.
Mills made 29 appearances for Cambridge United Women, scoring 12 goals last season to help her side finish fourth in the South East Division 1.
The attack-minded player, who has also played for Chelsea, spoke of her delight at joining the Dons and how it’s the right move for her.
She said: “I’m delighted to have signed for MK Dons Ladies, I like the professional feel of the club and I believe it’s a positive step in my football career.
“I’m excited to get started.”
When reflecting on what she would personally add to the team, as the Dons aim to better last season’s runners-up finish, Mills referred to her ability to create goals.
She stated: “I add pace going forwards, I love having the ball at my feet, running at players and creating goal scoring opportunities.”
James Honeyman supported the notion that Mills’ arrival would add goals, adding it was a factor in the decision to sign her.
He said: “She adds goals, we have recruited great and we are really happy with the squad, but we felt like we needed one more attacking player to score those goals we need.
“When we heard she might be available we put in the transfer offer immediately, Mills was one of our top targets in the summer.”
While Mills agrees with her new manager that she can help the Dons’ cause by contributing goals, she’s also aiming to enjoy her football once more as well as improve, now that she’s at the Dons.
She explained: “First and foremost, I want to enjoy playing my football again.
“I also want to improve in every aspect of my game and I feel MK Dons Ladies is the right environment to enable me to do this.”
