NCS Team talks Summer NCS

Although it is only the start of 2017 it’s a prime time to speak to year 11 pupils ahead of their exams about the NCS (National Citizen Service) opportunity available to them in the summer.

National Citizen Service (NCS) is an amazing opportunity for young people aged between 16-17. NCS is about creating unforgettable memories, making new friends and learning new skills that cannot be taught in the classroom.

Our NCS team will be visiting the secondary schools in South Northants and Central Bedfordshire to talk more about NCS.

How NCS works:

NCS is divided into 4 phases; Adventure, Discovery, Action and Celebration.

An exciting away residential in the great outdoors. Meet new people, build your confidence and try new challenges led by fully qualified staff on a number of activities including raft building, rock climbing and archery, plus many more.

After an amazing few days of adventure, you’ll be reunited with your team. You’ll be developing new personal skills; leadership, communication, public speaking, project planning and money management, supported by local and national organisations, who might be your future potential employers.  These will help you create a killer CV, and for those of you interested in going onto university, apprenticeships or employment.

So, following from an outdoor adventure and developing new skills, your team will then design, plan and deliver your own social action project. This is when you take everything you’ve learned so far and put it into action - making a long-lasting difference to your local community or cause of your choice.

After carrying out this incredible journey, we want to celebrate your success. Re-unite with your group and celebrate your NCS achievement with your friends and family. Receive your personalised graduate pack and certificate - signed by the Prime Minister. Find out about opportunities beyond NCS particularly with MK Dons SET, giving you exclusive access to employment, work placements and other courses
