Legacy SET For One More Year

We are happy to announce that the GET SET for Legacy Project has been accepted to continue its great work for a further 12 months. Sport England approached us back in January with the opportunity to apply for an extension to our Community Sport Activation Fund grant and after a successful process we have been accepted to take the project through to June 2018.

Legacy manager Ben Lawrence was delighted with the news. “To have been offered the chance to continue what we do within the Legacy project is fantastic. The extension will continue to support us with our aims of developing rugby, women’s football and badminton across Milton Keynes, something that we are very proud to be doing.”

The project was created back in 2014 when it was announced that Stadium MK would be hosting 3 Rugby World Cup 2015 pool matches, as well as the National Badminton Championships and the Women’s FA Cup Final and since then the project has engaged over 5,000 adults and young people in all three of those sports.

“The extension gives us further opportunity to cement a legacy for sport in Milton Keynes. One that can’t be done without the support of our partners who have contributed greatly to our success. Milton Keynes RUFC, Bletchley RUFC, Olney Rugby Club, England Rugby, MK Physical Activity Alliance, Shenley Brook End, St Pauls and Walton High secondary schools as well as everyone around MK Dons FC to name a few.”
