Lewis, who has been with MK Dons SET since U7’s, has now made the jump to join the MK Dons Academy U13’s group.
Lewis started his football journey with mini kickers at MK Dons SET, then swiftly moved into the Advanced Programme.
His formative years was coached by Dan Bolesta and Kevin Owusu, where Lewis really thrived and enjoyed playing football with his peers and coaches.
He then became a squad member in the Advanced Programme for a few years while always learning and being super competitive. Lewis then got the news he would join the Centre of Excellence at U10’s where he again was coached by Kevin.
Lewis came in as a defensive player before he transitioned into midfield. The confident youngster told his coach that he could be a striker and luckily for Lewis, he was correct!
Last season, at U12, he won the player’s player award and in August this year, he got the chance to play with the Academy. Lewis worked very hard, got a trial, and was finally offered his chance to join the Academy.
Lewis’ parents said:
“We as a family, thank everyone from his past years with the MK Dons SET, because if it was not for them, he would not be where he is now.”
Our Centre of Excellence lead, Jamie Atkinson, who has seen Lewis’ progression from the minute he joined SET to now, has these proud words to share:
“Lewis has been part of the Boys pathway for a long time, it has been a pleasure seeing Lewis develop since he first joined. Everyone at MK Dons SET would like to wish Lewis all the best on his next journey and we look forward to seeing you develop. Great Achievement, Lewis.”
Everyone at MK Dons SET is incredibly proud of Lewis. His journey is an outstanding achievement, and it is always a joy to see a young player thrive whilst trusting the process in our programmes.
Congratulations, Lewis!
We can’t wait to see your future accomplishments as part of the MK Dons Academy!
