In November 2024, MK Dons SET hosted the EFL Girls Cup at Fairfield’s Sports Hub.
The EFL Girls Cup comprises of a seven-a-side competition for U13 school children and culminates in a grand final prior to the Bristol Street Motors Trophy Final at Wembley Stadium in April 2025.
This year we were joined by 14 schools and over 150 players from Milton Keynes, Bedford
and Buckingham.
A very competitive tournament saw Ousedale School from Newport Pagnell come out as winners. A huge congratulations to them for an incredible accomplishment.
The team will now represent Milton Keynes Dons Sport & Education Trust in the Area final which will be held at Peterborough United in January 2025.
As a trust, we are very lucky to be able to host such prestigious events. Not only to bring female players to our female sports hub but to be able to view players that may be able to join one of our female pathway programs.
It is also a brilliant opportunity to have access to the school to offer further support with their female teams and to be able to represent the club and Sport and Education Trust in a national tournament and hopefully reach Wembley!
We have a positive relationship with Ousedale School with players that are representing the school that are already involved either with our Girls Emerging Talent Centre or within our Girls Academy.
We were grateful and honoured to have Brioche Pasquier products on the day which was well met by all players and teachers! But to also have Brioche Pasquier logos around the sports hub gives it a professional feel and for female players to have a hub that solely supports their pathway. Working together has enabled us to create a safe place to play recreational football and make opportunities to pursue the professional dream.
