Thomas’s journey is an inspiring testament to resilience and determination - qualities that reflect the values championed by MK Dons Sport and Education Trust.
After joining the boys' pathway in 2021, Thomas quickly stood out as a dedicated team member, recognised for his strong work ethic, teamwork, and goal-scoring abilities.
He was making great progress and devoting considerable time to his football when an unfortunate knee injury sidelined him for 11 weeks, temporarily halting his ambitions.
Despite this setback, Thomas demonstrated incredible perseverance, continuing to play with SET and excelling in his performances. His efforts culminated in earning the prestigious Manager’s Player of the Year award for the 2023/2024 season.
His exceptional talent and commitment caught the eye of Northampton Academy scouts, resulting in an eight-week trial and a two-season contract that will see him through until he turns 16.
Jamie Atkinson, our Centre of Excellence lead, who has worked with Thomas over the past three years, shared his thoughts:
"At MK Dons SET, we are incredibly proud to have supported Thomas in his development both on and off the pitch.
“Our programs aim to nurture talent and provide young players like Thomas with the foundation they need to pursue their football dreams.
“Seeing Thomas embark on this new chapter with Northampton Town Academy is both exciting and rewarding, and we are confident that he will achieve great things."
Congratulations, Thomas! Everyone at MK Dons SET wishes you all the best as you embark on this next stage of your journey. Keep working hard, and we look forward to following your progress as you grow and excel in your football career!
