MK Dons Community Trust is giving young people across Milton Keynes the chance to develop their football skills and experience the thrill of tournament football this October half-term.

Running from Monday 26th October to Thursday 29th October at Fairfields Sports Hub, the Milton Keynes Mixed Soccer School will give boys and girls aged five to 14, of all abilities the opportunity to play in a fun, inclusive and high-energy environment featuring football activities, technical coaching and small-sided games.

As well as developing their skills on the pitch, participants can make new friends and build confidence with support from the Trust’s team of FA-qualified coaches.

Each day will culminate in an MK Dons Community International Tournament, where youngsters can put their skills into practice and represent a nation. Tournament winners will lift the MK Dons Community International Tournament Trophy, with all participants receiving medals.

Goalkeepers will take part in dedicated training sessions each morning before joining the tournaments in the afternoon.

Hannah Bladen, Head of Community Development at MK Dons Community Trust, said: “Half-term is a great opportunity for young people to get outside, stay active and spend more time doing something they enjoy.

“Our coaching team will be on hand throughout the week to encourage every player to challenge themselves and get the most from their time with us, both as footballers and as individuals.

“Whether they’re regular players or still finding their feet in football, everyone will have the chance to get involved and enjoy the experience.”

The programme will also offer opportunities for talent identification, with players observed by coaching staff and Pathway Leads for potential progression into the Trust’s Boys and Girls Pathways.

Hannah added: “Our player pathway gives talented young players the opportunity to take the next step in their development and continue progressing their game.

“Every player develops at their own pace, and our Soccer Schools give our coaches the chance to support that development while identifying youngsters who may benefit from further opportunities within our Pathways.”

Sessions will run from 9am to 3.30pm, with registration from 8.30am, and are priced at £20 per day.

All revenue generated from the camps will be reinvested back into the Trust’s wider work to help people become the best version of themselves by harnessing the power of football and the club badge.

Players should bring shin pads, football boots, a water bottle, packed lunch and appropriate clothing for the weather. Those wanting to play in goal should also bring goalkeeper gloves.

Parents and guardians can stay up to date throughout the Soccer School by downloading the Abler App, where the Trust will share important announcements and updates.
